Santa Clara University - Women's Water Polo Has 7th Best GPA Nationally Continuing its fine work in the classroom, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) has announced the Santa Clara women's water polo team has the seventh-best grade point average (GPA) nationally at 3.20, with 11 Bronco women making the Academic All-American team. The women's team jumped up four places as they were 11th in 2007. Santa Clara had one named to the Academic All-American Outstanding list (3.71 - 4.00 GPA), seven named to the Superior list (3.41 - 3.70 GPA) and three named to the Excellent list (3.2 - 3.40 GPA). Santa Clara University - Five Broncos Earn All-WWPA Honors The Western Water Polo Association announced the 2008 All-WWPA teams this past week and five Santa Clara student-athletes received honors. Leading the way for the Broncos was senior Elizabeth Perry who was named to the All-WWPA Second Team. Seniors Randahl Capurro and Christie Miller were received All-WWPA Honorable Mention along with junior Amy Lamb. Freshman Taylor Harkins was named to the WWPA All-Freshman Team. Discuss this

Santa Clara University - Santa Clara Places Fourth At WWPA Championship After overcoming a four-goal deficit in the second half, Santa Clara lost to UC San Diego in heartbreaking fashion as the Toreros scored with .05 seconds left in regulation to win 8-7. Santa Clara University - Santa Clara Moves on to WWPA Semifinals After losing three different one-goal games to Cal State Bakersfield during the regular season, the Santa Clara women's water polo team won the game that mattered, beating CSUB 7-3 in the quarterfinals of the Western Water Polo Association Championships. The Broncos move on to face the winner of UC Davis and CS Monterey Bay Saturday at 4 p.m. Discuss this
