Topix.net - Best Female Black Belt
This Sunday 22nd July saw 16 year old Elizabeth Sellitti Rangel, of Xabia International College and Washinkai Karate in Javea in Spain, take her Shodan or Black Belt grading on a course in Eastbourne, England.
Her combinations of kicks and punches were a fantastic demonstration of her technique, speed and power.
Instructor Ray Sweeney was the attacking partner for Liz's pairwork and over and over people commented on her amazing focus and the timing and distance during her pairwork.
Liz's Naihanchi, Chinto and Seishan Kata (forms) were executed with tremendous poise, elegance and power, whilst her kumite (fighting) was ferocious and sharp.
Grading examiner, Shihan Chris Thompson 8th Dan, stated that Liz's grading was one of the best female gradings he had seen in over 40 years in karate.
The Washinkai Karate Summer Course starts this week at Javea Sports Centre and beginners are welcome to join in. Discuss this
