Cycling in Tenerife

A really inspiring vid.

Comments

Great stuff. Never really thought of Tenerife as anything more than an ashtray with lights on. Has anyone been cycling there? Safe?

Castle Combe ride

A great idea and a novel way to get out and enjoy your cycling.

Plus it's in the evening so not too hot, is on a Monday so doesn't interupt your weekend, and takes place on a surface designed for smoothness and glide.

As long as it isn't too windy this could be a pleasant way of putting miles in my legs.

Tuesday 19th June, 6-9pm.

The track is apparently 2.977kms (1.85 miles) long. So how many circuits will you aim to do in 3 hours? 25? more?

Obviously a cyclist in a past life

Incredible that no-one was hurt!

Als incredible that this doesn't happen more!

Comments

That's brilliant. The commentator was saying that it has happened a few times before, but I had never heard of such a thing.

Recommended bike shop - London

I went here today

Bicycle Magic

and received some of the best service I have ever experienced in a bike shop.

Not normally one to advise others, but London dwellers could do a lot worse if you're ever in need of anything.

Well played chaps.

Ticket prices

They're all at it!

Blackburn the latest club to make the move, joining Chelsea, Everton, Bolton and Wigan.

Still begs the question though, why were the prices so high in the first place?

And is this not just a ploy to get more bums on seats - it's not as if the clubs are really wanting to reduce prices, they're being forced to.

In the media today ..

The furore rolls on from the Carling Cup Final with the Football Association charging both Arsenal and Chelsea with misconduct.

Of course, we all know that these charges (and the financial penalties that will result) will act as nothing more than a kind of public hanging for the clubs, only with the noose very loose and with little chance of tightening by talking points deductions.

If the FA were really serious about matters such as this they'd hit clubs where it really hurts - and that's not in the pocket.

Having said, that how far do you take it when players are obviously fired up for what is an important Cup Final.

We'd hate it more if we were asking the players to inject a bit of passion and none was forthcoming.

More crucial to today's proceedings may well be the suspensions that have also been confirmed for Mikel, Adebayor and Toure.

These could have real implications over the closing weeks of the season, even though it appears that Chelsea are destined to fail to recover the gap to Manchester United, and Arsenal will surely scoop either the third or fourth Champions League spot.

It remains a sad indictment of football and the Carling Cup in particularly however, to think that Arsene Wenger is probably stewing more about the loss of two players than he is the chance of silverware from Sunday afternoon.
