Sour grapes

It's a sadly familiar scenario at this time of year. What Dannny Baker once described as 'the five sweetest words in the English language: Chelsea crash out of Europe'. I like old Dan, so I can find even that funny, and anyway, he's a Millwall fan, so you've got to give the guy a break. And now it's our turn. After the grumpy Wednesday morning 'Was there a football match last night? I didn't see it' we get Wednesday night and Man U coming unstuck against some Italians. And now I'm sorry to say I am hoping that Liverpool get mairdered by Milan. They won the Champions' League a couple of years ago when they were certainly not the best team in Europe and it would be plain wrong for them to do it again. Sorry to be so un-PC, but there is right and wrong in everything. In a similar vein, when Wimbledon got to the FA Cup final, I was the only person in the country not willing them to win, because I wanted our representatives in Europe to have some sort of chance. Chelsea will be back next year with a spare centre back and everything will be different. You mark my wairds, Rafa.
