Tour of Britain - credible event or PR exercise
The Tour of Britain has always seemed something of a white elephant to me.
It's bigge older brother across the Channel is always going to steal the limelight but there are times I really respect our Tour and want it to succeed and change opinions.
With the latest route revealed though, are we getting too obsessed by the tourist opportunities on offer by parading a group of riders from location to location.
Isn't credibility somewhat removed from commercialism?
Tour of Britain to me just smacks of marketing guru's and PR people licking their lips while they get slotted backhanders from tourist information offices.
Agree?
