Glorious triumph for Ferguson
Last night's Champions League final between Manchester United and Chelsea had everything. Drama, tension, excitement, villains and heroes. You name it, they were all there in Moscow.
But the end result with United triumphing on penalties was a fitting reward for Sir Alex Ferguson. He believes his current side are the best he has managed and who could argue after completing the double?
His side in 1999 were special but lacked the individual class of Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand. Competition has toughened, as shown by Chelsea's courageous pursuit of United, so this team deserves all the credit it will get.
And with a young squad it would be no surprise to see United dominate on the domestic and European stage for years to come. Having worked so hard to earn his second European Cup, Ferguson might not have to wait so long to get the next one.
