Jo was twice crowned Junior London Marathon Champion and
earned a very well deserved National 1500m title and international vest at
just 18. At 13 she was scouted by a local athletics coach after winning 3
interschool 800m races against some of his own athletes. Under the
tutorage of her new coach Jo made excellent progress and was twice
crowned Junior London Marathon champion and earned a very well
deserved National 1500m title and international vest at just 18.

At Nottingham University Jo continued to develop as an athlete
representing British Universities, the South of England and Britain's under
23 team.

Since gaining a taste for international competition, Jo has competed in
two European Championship finals and broke the British age record for
the steeplechase FOUR times before becoming a senior. In 2005 she was
Britain's representative in the 3000m steeplechase at the European Cup in
Leira, Portugal and she went to her first World Championships in Helsinki
where she gained invaluable experience. This year Jo represented
England at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Her long term goal is
the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing when the 3000m steeplechase will be
an Olympic event for women for the first time.
Jo also fronted the London 2012 bid film starring along side the likes of David Beckham,
Dame Kelly Holmes and Sir Matthew Pinsent.
