Pakistan pacemen miss out

Pakistan pace bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif have been ruled out of the World Cup due to injury. The pair who have had recent doping related troubles have been forced to step down because of knee and elbow problems respectively. Akhtar is one of few 100 mph+ bowlers in world cricket and his absence will help a few international batsmen sleep easier in their beds. Yasir Arafat and Mohammad Sami are the replacements for the injured bowlers in the tournament that gets underway in just 12 days time.
