With a rest day within touching distance and a relative unknown leading the way in the Tour de France, today might be a good day for one of the race's leading lights to stamp down their authority.
It's another challenging day's riding, and not for the weak-hearted (or legged).

Meanwhile, veteran Erik Zabel said last night that he was willing to hand back the green jersey he won in 1996 having admitted to using banned substances during the Tour eleven years ago.
