Cycling Weekly reports that Stage Four winner Thor Hushovd was quick to praise team-mate Julian Dean following a gutsy lead-out that set the Norwegian up for his first sprint win in a year:

Hushovd home first

Thor Hushovd finally claimed his first win of the season, leading home a bunch sprint in the 193km Villers-CotterĂȘts to Joigny stage four.

The Norwegian now sits 2nd in the overall standings.

Rumours persist though that despite two top ten finishes, Britain's Mark Cavendish will be pulled out of the Tour by this Sunday.

Is the Tour winning round the doubters?

There can be little doubt that the UK public has grasped Le Tour.

We're tough enough, strong enough, and certainly bloody-minded enough to believe that what we see on our roads and on our screens is fair, honest and just.

But is this credibility from the Tour's cheats a new dawn? Or a false dawn?

Drugs row rumbles on

While we should be grateful that the action on the road hasn't be interupted by talk of drugs and banned substances, it seems that behind-the-scenes the controversy over past winners rumbles on, this week between two previous winners.

British Joy in Joigny?

The sprinters will once again be to the fore on Stage Four today as the riders traverse a route from Villers Cotterets to Joigny.

Fabian Cancellara has been milking the praise for a shrewd tactical move timed to perfection at the end of yesterday's Stage Three, and rightly so having fallen just 24 hours previously.
