Friday: Coaching is Tosh, says John

John Toshack has endeared himself to the UK’S coaches by slating the way they operate. With the home nations failing to qualify for next summer’s tournament – Toshack believes the quality of coaching, and lack of UK coaches, is to blame, suggesting a big overhaul is needed.

Meanwhile Toshack will this Sunday find out who his nation are drawn with for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers. The draw is made on Sunday, and Wales will be in the fourth group of seeds.

Jones demand changes

Wales fly-half Stephen Jones has called for a major tactical review following their defeat at the hands of Australia in the World Cup. Meanwhile Martin Williams says their game plan played into the hands of Australia reports Sporting Life.

Even a home game in Cardiff in the French World Cup (we know, makes no sense) couldn't stop Wales slipping to defeat but they were playing the mighty Australia. Full match report from The BBC.

Proud night for Bellamy

The Telegraph report how Wales skipper Craig Bellamy finally leads his country out after taking over the captaincy from Ryan Giggs. Place your bets now on how long it is before he is stripped of it over a "late night incident".

Gabbidon feels Euro hopes are over

Danny Gabbidon feel that Wales hopes of qualification for Euro 2008 are over after Saturday's defeat to Germany.

Instead the defender is hoping for a good finish to the campaign to boost confidence ahead of the World Cup qualifiers which start next September report The BBC.

Bellamy travels with squad

Wales were given a much needed boost following the injury to Jason Koumas when skipper Craig Bellamy travelled with the team to Slovakia.

The Telegraph report how the West Ham striker boarded the plane after his wife and baby daughter were released from hospital.

Koumas out of Wales squad

Wales have been hit with a hammer blow after influential midfielder Jason Koumas was forced to withdraw from the squad with a foot injury.

Bellamy boost for Wales

Craig Bellamy is expected to link-up with the rest of the Wales squad before they fly out to Bratislava for Wednesdays's Euro 2008 qualifier against Slovakia.

The West Ham forward missed Saturday's defeat against Germany due to complications following the birth of his daughter report Sporting Life.

Eastwood ignores Gypsy jibes

Wolves striker Freddy Eastwood says he ignores abuse from rival fans who pick up on his Romany Rooney tag given to him by the tabloids. The new Wales striker reveled his is only concerned with scoring goals in this Guardian interview.

Craig Bellamy rushed to hospital after his new-born baby suffered a health scare. Manager John Toshack told The Mirror that he hopes the striker will still face Gemany today.
