Isporty applauds Pereiro ..
Posted Oct 16th 2007, 7:42pm by james evans

Cheats never prosper, and a year after Floyd Landis performance-enhanced his way to the 2006 Tour de France title, justice was finally done this week after Spaniard Oscar Pereiro was belatedly awarded the title, as the BBC reports.
Yet, on the same day, Giro d'Italia winner Daniel Di Luca receives a three-month ban for doping offences, proving that some will still not learn their lesson.

Pereiro to receive winner's yellow ..
Posted Oct 9th 2007, 7:24pm by james evans

How will Oscar Pereiro feel next week when he is presented with the 2006 Tour de France winner's jersey?
Elated? Probably not. Cheated? Most likely. But receive it he will as Yahoo 7 Sport confirms that the Spaniard will take the jersey in Madrid following the disqualification of Floyd Landis. (Pictured are the two riders on the podium in Paris last year.)
What are your thoughts? Will this spur Pereiro to win it for real next time around?
Discuss this and other matters on the Isporty Cycling Forum.

Zabel ban heightens doping concern ..

Erik Zabel's snub from the forthcoming World Championships, as reported by the BBC, reminds us that in the calm after the Tour de France, the cycling of sport still has much repairing to be done.
Indeed, the bloggers at Cycling Fans Anonymous have thrown their support behind one of the internet's leading promoters of the sport, Wim van Rossum, who has become so disilluisioned he is hanging up his wheels.
On the road, Lopez Garcia wins the latest Stage of the Tour of Germany, (pictured).
