Keano swoops for Kiwi

Sunderland manager Roy Keane has swooped to sign New Zealand U20 international defender Jack Pelter.
Tribal Football say that the Kiwi has signed on a short term contract.
Keane has admitted that Pelter has a slight injury and it will be assessed in due course.

Leadbitter on the mend

Sunderland midfielder Grant Leadbitter is determined not to end up fighting against the drop this season.
Sky Sports report that the Wearside star is also expecting more games and responsibility now that captain Dean Whitehead is out injured.

Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn has promised supporters that he will put his hand in his pocket to strengthen the side, according to Tribal Football.
The former Blackcats striker is backing gaffer Roy Keane after missing out on the likes of David Nugent, Leighton Baines and Jermain Defoe in the summer

Cole in fitness race

New Sunderland striker Andrew Cole is facing a race against time to be fit for next Saturday's clash with Reading.
Tribal Football report the striker, who strained a calf in a reserve game against Everton in the week, is not the only mackem to be struggling.

Craig Gordon

Garry O'Connor has praised former Hearts pal Craig Gordon, saying the goalkeeper is worth £9m.
The pair are both Scottish internationals and, with Gordon under pressure to justify a record fee for a keeper.
The Birmingham striker says that won't be a problem.

Roy Keane has let winger Tobias Hysen sign for IFK Gothenburg for an undisclosed fee.
The 25 year-old Swede scored three goals for the club.
