Gareth Barry has told Villa team-mate Ashley Young he will soon make his senior England debut reports avfc.com
"If he keeps playing well for Villa, I'm sure he'll get another call-up." said Barry, who is hoping to keep his place in Steve McClaren's team for tommorrow's crunch Euro qualifier against Russia.

The 31 year-old Dane is disappointed at losing his place to on-loan 'keeper Scott Carson.
Luton are seeking a loan deal for Aston Villa midfielder Zoltan Stieber report tribalfootball.com.
The Hatters watched the young left-sided midfielder in the reserves last week and Villa manager Martin O'Neill may send Stieber for some first-team action.

Villa too nice says 'nasty' Nigel

Nigel Reo-Coker reckons Aston Villa need to develop a 'nasty streak' if they want to get among the medals. The former West Ham skipper believes Martin O'Neill is assembling a side that can challenge for honours but only if they toughen up.
"The only criticism I would have at the moment is that we are too nice. We need a nasty streak, in the right way, and then we'll be successful." is quoted on Team Talk

Barry set for England test ..

The Aston Villa Official Website states that Gareth Barry could be set for his first England start in seven years, against Israel this Saturday.
Meanwhile, Martin Laursen is up next for contract talks, as Holte Enders reveals. The Dane has proved a big hit with manager Martin O'Neill and is set to be rewarded with a new deal.
