On the terraces: Next summer I will mostly be ..

After the failings of our national team, at least my herbacious borders will get the attention they deserve. The wife will be ecstatic.

What a week. A disgrace, a shambles, a mess. A complete embarrassment.

And that was just the wife at the end of the summer talking about the trellis ...

Impressive Stuff: McClaren should have stayed

I actually feel a bit sorry for Steve McClaren.

I think he was severely let down by the jumped up players he has in his squad, and should have been given more time to get it right.

Look as well at the number of injuries that we had the other night - Ferdinand, Terry, Owen, Rooney, Neville, Lennon - that's virtually half a team - plus goalkeepers who seem to have forgotten the basics of the game.

I was never a massive Steve Mc fan but I feel that once again the players have escaped the criticism when it is really they who are to blame for this shambles.

Talking out of his Arsene

What is Arsene Wenger going on about?

He reckons Reading only stayed up last year because of Arsenal letting them have some of their players.

See Isporty story: here

Incredible.

Like Graham Stack is our number one keeper anyway?

Come on Arsene, you (and your team) are much better than that, surely?

On the terraces: Hutchings fate sealed

Got to feel sorry for Chris Hutchings, though I was surprised to hear Wigan fans calling for his head on Saturday.

We (Chelsea) scored two of the best goals you will see, but it's not as if Paul Jewell didn't struggle with the side last season, and they have had a tough first 12 games.

Surprised the fans didn't respect him enough to give him longer. Shame.

Impressive Stuff: Sam Hamann

I shared a train ride with Sam Hamamm a few years ago. We were going up on the train for a match at York and he was off on some jaunt somewhere (strangely, Cardiff WERE playing that day but he wasn't going to the game).

Anyway, he was completely mad. Insane.

We were having some friendly banter and talking about the lower leagues, and then without so much as a warning he cuffed one of my mates around the chin, completely unprovoked!

Of course, it was hilarious, and my mate spilt his beer all down his footy shirt.

Sam looked pleased with himself too.

Hamamm = nutter. thumbs up

Keepy Uppy: Keepy-Ups for cash

I know keepy-uppy is a bit of fun, but there's also a serious side, with Unicef trying to continue their good work by attracing the football market to sponsored activities.

Keepy-uppy being one of them. I'm useless yet have still managed to raise over £200. It really is the taking part that counts!
