Special K 25 - 6 McMonagle FC
In a somewhat one sided encounter, Special K brushed aside the opposition in the first friendly of their pre-season campaign. Determined not to let the rain dampen their spirits, Special K played some delightful football at times and threatened every time they went forward.
Burden provided McMonagle FC's only spark and showed some great skill on the ball at times, but tried to do too much on his own and was dealt with easily by the Special K defence, who worked hard all night to track back and cover.
An easy victory in the end with lots of positives to take from the game. With the team still gaining match fitness one of the biggest confidence boosts will be taken from the fact that we can all still play a lot better.
