Description
Oxygen FC was founded in 1989 by friends within the Music Industry and competed in the McCabe Travel League from 1989 until 2002.
For the first 3 seasons the club was originally known as Rondor Music FC, changing its name to Oxygen in 1993.
The club has the dubious honour of a rather bizarre cup record. Each year the team got either all the way to the Cup Final or got knocked out in the first round, never losing in any other round. Appearing in 5 Cup Finals over the years and sadly winning only once.
Now a Veterans team, the club no longer compete in a league, but do get together to play friendly fixtures.
Most Memorable Match: Either beating Triangle 4-1 to win the Cup in 1993 or the 5-0 demolition of Hyde Park Thursday, in the 1995 Cup Semi-Final.
Highest Win: 12-0 v Queens Road
Biggest Defeat: 9-0 v Hyde Park Thursday
Best League Position: Finished 2nd in the league six times, losing out by one point on 3 occasions!!
All Time Top Goal Scorer: Lee Martin.
Funniest Moment: Paul Vernon working his mystical powers trying to hypnotise the team to victory. We lost 9-0, our worst ever defeat!
