Northdowns and Wildcats U11
Nomads U11s took a 5-0 victory against Wildcats as the West London side failed to field a team in what would have been our first indoor meeting.
The team went on to earn a 1-1 draw with a long shot from Anya against a Northdowns side that was one player short. Unfortunately we saved the best until too late with a 5-1 victory to follow in a friendly match between the two side that followed. But at least it showed that we can put the ball in the basket!!!
We were lucky that the matches happened at all as the caretaker at the Northdowns venue failed to open the facility and Northdowns pulled off a last minute 'save' by shifting the onlookers up to Trinity just before throw-off.

Nomads new U11s
Nomads new young U11 side, who formed primarily as a result of coaching from Terry, Ben, Amy, Sam and Irma at St Dunstans primary school, featured in their first indoor LDKA league fixtures last weekend.
The team featuring Joe, Mahmoud, Caine, Thomas, Devon and Reece, Emma, Amy, Carensa and Niamh played two matches against Mitcham and Scorpians.
Both opposition sides appeared to have age on their side as our somewhat smaller players took them on without fear!
The team drew 2-2 with Mitcham who they had lost to several times previously at the Nomads Tournament and both players and parents were happy with a hard fought for result. Mahmoud and Devon both converted penalties and Reece managed to stay standing despite the best attempts of his enthusiastic female opponent.
The Nomads side faired less well in a 1-5 result against Scorpians (must be all those cakes the Scorpians supporters MADE us eat - interesting tactics!). The Scorpians team have moved up an age group having previously been the 2005/6 National Champions U9. A spectacular long-distance shot was taken by Reece courtesy of a cheeky quick shot following a stopage in play! The team passed the ball out well from defense to attack and made many good interceptions but struggled to form an effective attack - they never gave up and look forward to the next matches.
The team were coached by 2006/7 Season U11 coach Brian and supported by assistant coach Sam. U13 coach Terry also came to view the games along with myself and a large number of supporting parents. Thanks to all x
