Description
The only UK event & exhibition dedicated to the grass roots game.
The Grass Roots Football Show is back for its second year, taking place at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th June 2007.
Packed full of coaching drills, training equipment, team kit and the new Skills Challenge Zone, the show is for everyone involved in coaching, managing or running a football team or club. It’s really easy to get to and a brilliant day out.
With three months to go, plans for this year’s show are now well advanced, with a host of participants now confirmed for the event.
Coaches Arena – sponsored by Precision Training
Former England manager Graham Taylor will be one of this year’s star attractions! Graham will be in attendance in his role as official brand ambassador for Precision Training and will be performing in the Coaches Arena on both days. Graham will be joined by current England senior team coach Steve Round, Everton’s Academy Technical Co-ordinator Tosh Farrell and Arsenal Ladies Academy Director Emma Hayes. More announcements are expected over the course of the next few weeks and visitors can keep right up to date at www.grassrootsfootballshow.co.uk
Seminars and Workshops
Rarely do managers and coaches at Grass Roots level get to hear from those operating at the very top of the game. But at this year’s show, visitors will hear from the likes of Bill Beswick, England Team Psychologist and David Wales, Senior Physiotherapist at Arsenal FC. On the first day Bill will consider how to get the very best from individual players and on Sunday 10th he turns his attention to The TEAM as he provides invaluable insights into how to create a winning team spirit. David’s session looks at practical management of on-field injuries and emergencies in football
Skills Challenge Zone
The skills challenge zone is the area where coaches and players alike can test their skills, receive expert coaching tips and win great prizes. Coaching goalkeepers is a highly specialised skill, so make sure you attend one of Simon Smith’s workshops. Simon was Bobby Robson’s goalkeeping coach at Newcastle for six year’s, working with top class keepers including Shay Given. Better still, bring your keeper along and let Simon and his team put him through their paces.
And talking of players, there are great prizes to be won in the Nike Challenge which will test power and accuracy as well as showcasing the shortly to be released Nike Laser Total 90 boot. And if you wished you could teach your players the Cruyff turn or dazzling dragbacks, don’t miss the Coerver Coaching Arena where you’ll pick up an array of new skills, drills and tricks.
Exhibition
More than 100 companies, featuring just about every product or service you or your club could possibly need, the exhibition hall will provide visitors with the perfect opportunity to stock up for the new season. You’ll find the very latest coaching books and videos, team kits, training apparel, fitness equipment, on-line coaching resources, club website providers, portable goals, portable dug outs, portable floodlights, line marking equipment, all weather surfaces, tour companies, after-dinner speakers, in fact, the full list really is too long to put into print!

Representatives from more than 700 clubs have already registered to attend the show and have automatically been entered in to the £15,000 Prostar Match Ball Giveaway. The giveaway couldn’t be simpler. Register on-line and you will be entered into a free prize draw and 600 lucky visitors will walk away with a brand new match ball worth £25.
