Armstrong's strong lungs

Nike ad starring Armstrong. Great idea.

Comments

Bizarre but interesting.

I usually hate Nike ads for their 'doing footy tricks around an airport' themes but this one I can stomach - as could the elephant!

Yeah very good.

Interesting how they are moving more and more away from the simple concept ads.

Much more entertaining, this kind of thing.

But what causes the great lungs? Bjarne Riis tells that it is because he bought a new heart in Africa lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyqyVKSJiOM

Cycling this weekend

Anybody off on any rides this weekend.

We're heading off to Cheshire for a bit of a leisurely weekend riding around Delamere Forest through Nantwich and out to the countryside.

Haven't done anything like this since the tail-end of last year, and with the weather looking as if it is going to behave itself, I can't wait for what should be a great excursion.

On the second day we're heading to Ellesmere and through North Shropshire - some truly stunning areas around there and lovely quaint pub stop-off's, naturally.

Anybody else got something special planned?

Comments

Yep!

off the Isle of Wight this weekend with a mate, around the island in the rain!

The wonder of cycling

Some nice images. Love it.

I love it. Watched it first thing this morning and I am inspired for the rest of the day. Thanks for posting that.

Hi - is this from that IMax cycling movie that was made a couple of years ago - did it ever actually get released if it is?

cheers

Beautiful.

Some great imagery and a reminder of what a passionate and powerful sport this is.
Posted by Harry Digson, May 24th 2007, 3:00pm

It's from 'Hollentour' (or Hell on Wheels) which was released in 2004.

A superb behind-the-scenes look at the TdF and I can recommend anyone picking it up.

Not widely available but it was released on DVD, yes.

Great vid.

Superb.

Just makes you want to get out there and experience it.
Posted by Nick Judd, May 25th 2007, 11:49am

I've got the DVD - it's all like that.

A real behind-the-scenes look with some stunning imagery.

Think I paid about £12 for it.

Well worth the investment.

Keep cycling on track

I implore all cyclists on ISporty to give their time and attention to the government's proposed white paper on the provision of train access for cyclists, that is due to be published in July.

This is a serious campaign that will directly affect the freedom we have as cyclists to use trains and to continue to enjoy the bike/commute mode of transport.

At a time when the government is seemingly obsessed with carbon emmisions and the general imploring of people to do their bit, it is a complete farce that we are having to watch over their moves on such an issue as bike access.

They cannot be trusted. You just have to look at the provisions they have made for the London to Brighton bike ride (none, in other words) to know that.

So please have a look at the website below and do all you can to put pressure on the people who really shouldn't have to be reminded.

Thanks.

Keep Cycling on Track

Obviously a cyclist in a past life

Incredible that no-one was hurt!

Als incredible that this doesn't happen more!

Comments

That's brilliant. The commentator was saying that it has happened a few times before, but I had never heard of such a thing.

John O'Groats to Lands End sponsored ride

A friend of mine is one of four people looking to raise publicity for the end-to-end challenge.

If you have sponsorship, advice, or just any interest, please have a look at :

Cycle End 2 End

I know there are quite a few people on this site who have done the ride.

Recommended bike shop - London

I went here today

Bicycle Magic

and received some of the best service I have ever experienced in a bike shop.

Not normally one to advise others, but London dwellers could do a lot worse if you're ever in need of anything.

Well played chaps.

National cycle routes

Really shouldn't be underestimated. I'd forgotten how nice it is just to take off somewhere and know you have an end destination to get to.

You meet some great people along the way, and it furthers my belief that there is no place quite like the UK that is so rich and diverse.
