We set up isporty because we realised that the original reason we know most of our oldest and most treasured friends was in some way down to sport. And that what we did in sport meant as much to all of us as it does to Wayne Rooney, Paula Radcliffe or Lance Armstrong.

We wanted to be able to feel like pro's - talk about our sport all week, prepare properly for matches and events and have a laugh with our team mates.

Sport binds us together in so many different ways. But it all seems to be down to luck that when we are in the gym, at work or on the Sunday league pitch we gravitate towards a few people that could become our friends whilst we could obviously be missing out on many more, that through shared sporting aspirations or loyalties, could become part of our real social life (and not just an online social network).

isporty makes it easier to find out whether the people we may know well in a sporting capacity, but know so little about in any other area, may have more things in common with us than just trying to kick us up in the air or reach the finishing line first.

People that will widen our genuine friendship circle, people that may make good flatmates, partners, provide trusted services such as plumbing or electricians or simply be the right training buddy or opponent

Our motivations in life generally seem to rise to the surface and show themselves through sport, do we really want to win or are contented with a happy go lucky approach. Our aim is that through isporty.com it is now easy for people that share common motivations and goals to find each other.

We also set up the site so that players like us, at the grass roots, can have a more rewarding and fun time and maybe make a few more genuine friends along the way.
